We had a great time on Easter weekend because we got to spend it with people we love. Tessha arranged for us to stay at the Quality Inn in American Fork so we all piled in the Camary - totally different than the us "all piling in the suburban" and made the trek to Utah- totally different than making the all night trek from Oregon of years gone by. :-)
Kristi brought up her kids and Laura and Mark came and then Gracie brought the party with her when she showed up. The kids swam in the pool and sat in the hot tub a bit and then Dad bought us bunches of pizza to eat up. Tessha went home with Laura and Mark and Alisha went home with Kristi and kids and Dad and I had the hotel room to ourselves. Needless to say, I think everyone was very tired and went right to sleep where ever we were at.
Saturday was a busy, fun-filled day of shopping and eating and enjoying everyone!!
Laura, Tessha and I started out in fabric stores looking for the just-right fabric and colors for the baby Nelson's bed. We're going to make his comforter and bumper guard for the crib. Laura had already received the appliques that she wants sewn on some of the quilt blocks. It's going to be so nice!!
Anyway, after a while Kristi, Alisha, Sitani and Marley joined us and when Laura had found what she was looking for, we all went to eat at the Chuck Wagon right by the fabric store. Mark joined us and pretty soon, so did Gracie. I don't think anyone went away hungry.
Mark took his bud, Sitani to go play and the rest of us shopped on. We still had Easter baskets to fill. This was great fun since we were all right there to say, "yeah" or "nay" to what went in the baskets. However, I think there were still a few surprises.
Sunday morning Mark and Laura hosted the Easter egg hunt and breakfast at their house and everyone received their Easter surprises (some not so surprising).
Mark and Laura took off for church, Kristi, Haini and kids returned home since Kristi was giving the RS lesson in their ward that day, and again; Dad, Mom, Tessha and Alisha piled in the Camary and headed north.
But wait, they turned right at Brigham City and went over to Logan to visit with Granma, Kelly, Julia and their family. Penny and her girls were already there and Julia had a fantastic Easter dinner already for us as soon as we got in. Yummmm!!
We had a nice, relaxing afternoon sitting around with more family and visiting to our hearts content. It was even a pleasant drive home since Dad did most of the driving. I think I even fell asleep for a little while. Yes, we returned home to snow!! Oh well, it was a wonderful Easter weekend! We sure love being with family.
